I’M BACK ON THE START LINE (THREE DECADES LATER…)
The last time I ran a marathon was in 1998. I had more hair, less responsibility, and thought running 26.2 miles was a sensible idea. Fast forward nearly three decades and here I am again, about to line up for the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2026.
I'll be raising money for XLP (where I work), and for all the challenges we see young Londoners facing every day. Struggles at school, really tough home lives, complex family situations, and pressures in the community. I've had the privilege to work with some incredible youth workers over the past seven years and I see the difference they make by simply showing up and believing in these young people when so many others don't. That’s really what XLP's all about.
So I’m putting my trainers back on to raise vital funds for our work. It turns out I'm not as fit as I was 30 years ago, so I’m going to need every ounce of encouragement I can to get over the line, which is where you come in.
Your donation will keep me moving forward when my legs say otherwise, and it will keep XLP moving forward too, giving young people the opportunities and support they deserve.
Please sponsor me today. We can turn this marathon into more than just a personal challenge. We can make it a step towards real hope for young people across London.
👉 Donate now and cheer me on! Every pound makes those miles feel a little lighter.
